He comes back to Bruxelles in the newly rebuild Théâtre de la Monnaie de Munt with one of the most demanding role in his repertoire, Gioconda by Ponchielli. In February and March he is back at Kungliga Operan in Stockholm for a new run of Puccini’s La Bohème. In June he comes back to Bolshoi Theater in Moscow with his signature role in Carmen.

In September he is back at Teatro Real in Madrid for his debut of Don Carlo by Verdi in the five acts version.

The most important moment of the season is his debut at Metropolitan Opera in New York once again with Madama Butterfly by Puccini.

Andrea ends his year with an unforgettable coming back to the Teatro Regio in Turin, his hometown, after ten years of absence singing in an exciting production of Carmen directed by Steven Medcalf and conducted by G. Sagripanti.

After two years of absence he comes back to the Royal Opera House in London in a new production of Carmen staged by Barry Kosky and he comes back to the USA with his house debut at Michigan Opera Theater in Detroit with Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca.

With the same role he is back, after five years of absence, in Italy, debuting in one of the most important theater of the world, Teatro Regio in Parma.

Few months later, with this same role, Andrea has his debut at Kansallisooppera the Finnish national opera in Helsinki with an unforgettable production signed by the famous german director Christof Loy and under the baton of P. Fournillier.

He is back at Kungliga Operan in autumn with a new production of Aida and he ends his year with one of the most waited moment of his career, the Wiener Staatsoper debut with the historical and the world’s oldest production of Madama Butterfly.

2017 is an exciting and demanding year with many performances of Fedora, the role debut of Števa in Jenufa by L. Janacek at Kungliga Operan in Stockholm.

In the same theater he is also debuting Rodolfo in Puccini’s Bohème.

In May he has the third role debut of the year in Aida at Opéra La Monnaie de Munt in Bruxelles.

In the same year he has his debut in one of the most important stages in the world, Teatro Real in Madrid where he sings in two productions: Madama Butterfly by Puccini and his signature role of Don José in Carmen by Bizet.

In December he has another theater debut at Palau des Arts in Valencia in the title role of Don Carlo togheter with a dream cast: Placido Domingo, Violeta Urmana, Maria José Siri, Alexander Vinogradov and Marco Spotti.

Makes his debut at the NCPA in Beijing in a new production of Gioconda by Ponchielli.

He sings the title role of Don Carlo at Bolshoi Theater and in a new production by Robert Carsen at the Opèra du Rhin in Strasbourg. During the summer he makes other two important debuts: the first in Iris by Mascagni at Festival de Radio France, alongside the soprano Sonya Yoncheva, and the second as Radames in Aida at Tanglewood Festival with the Boston Simphony Orchestra, alongside the soprano Kristine Opolais.

He makes his fourth debut in the year as Loris Ipanov in Fedora by Giordano at the Royal Swedish Opera in a new production by Christof Loy.

He conquers the audiences of the Royal Opera House in London when he replaced an indisposed Jonas Kaufmann in the last performance of the famous production of Carmen by Francesca Zambello. Then he sings the role of Pollione in two new productions of Bellini’s Norma: one at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and the other at the Opéra National de Bordeaux. He sings as well the role of Giasone in a new production of Medea directed by Christof Loy at the Gran Théatre de Genève.

Makes his debut in the title role of Verdi’s Stiffelio at the Royal Swedish Opera. Makes a successful Spanish debut performing the role of Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. Debuts in Canada as Don Carlo at the Vancouver Opera and as Pinkerton at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto. Is invited to sing in Parma and Sofia to celebrate the 80th anniversary of his teacher Raina Kabaivanska. Makes his debut in the Czech Republic singing in a concert at the Smetana Hall of Prague with Jennifer Larmore. Takes part in a gala at the Bolshoi Theater with Maria Guleghina.

Makes his Royal Opera House debut as Ismaele in Nabucco sharing the stage with Placido Domingo. Debuts the role of Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca at the Stuttgart Staatstheater and Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg. Sings the title role of Reyer’s Sigurd at the Victoria Hall in Genève alongside Anna Caterina Antonacci and the title role of Verdi’s Don Carlo at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Debuts at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste as Don Josè in Carmen.

Makes his debut as Gustavo in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera at the Royal Swedish Opera, and as Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth at the Grand Theatre de Genève. Returns to sing at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.

Makes a very successful German debut as Samson in Saint-Saëns’s Samson et Dalila at the Nürnberg Staatstheater. Sings the role of Don José in Carmen at the Hamburg Staatstheater, Berlin Deutsche Oper, Regio San Carlo in Naples, the Royal Swedish Opera and Teatro Lirico in Cagliari. Debuts at the Teatro Petruzelli in Bari as Pollione in Norma alongside Carmela Remigio and Sonia Ganassi.

Makes new important role and opera house debuts as Ismaele in Verdi’s Nabucco at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, as Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at Savonlinna Opera Festival and at the Teatro Regio in Turin, and as Don José at the Teatro Verdi in Padua, Teatro Comunale in Rovigo and Palm Beach Opera.

Debuts at the Terme di Caracalla in the role of Don José in Bizet’s Carmen alongside the mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca, returns to the Teatro Regio in Turin as Alfredo Germont in La Traviata and debuts in the difficult role of Ctirad in Janacek’s Sarka at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

Debuts as Pollione in Bellini’s Norma at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, as Giasone in Cherubini’s Medea at the Teatro Regio in Turin and at the Teatro Bellini in Catania. Debuts also at the Teatro Verdi in Ravenna in the role of Alfredo in La Traviata.

With the help of Raina Kabaivanska becomes a pupil of the legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti and has the privilege to study with him each day from January until June. After Pavarotti’s passing, he debuts as Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata at the Seoul Seyong Center and soon after sings the same role at the Teatro Verdi in Terni.

Debuts as Jarba in Galuppi’s Didone Abbandonata, recorded by Bongiovanni, at the Teatro Caio Melisso in Spoleto. Begins to study with the celebrated Bulgarian soprano, Raina Kabaivanska, which continues to this days.

Wins the contest of Teatro Lirico sperimentale “A. Belli” for young opera singers from the European community and debuts as Lord Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro S. Niccolò in Spoleto and plays the same role in the most important theatres and venues of Umbria.

Debuts his first opera role in the musical fairytale Il Ciottolino.

Starts his vocal studies at the Conservatorio “G. Verdi” in Turin.
